Neera Sarmah, fondly known as the bamboo lady of India is a pioneer in bamboo jewellery and sustainable entrepreneurship. Her innovative work focuses on using bamboo to create eco friendly products while providing livelihood opportunities for marginalized communities, especially women. By promoting bamboo as a sustainable material, she actively contributes to environmental conservation and reducing deforestation. Over a period of 20 years she has received numerous awards and gained recognition for her outstanding work.
